Some movies can be guessed by hearing a specific line or phrase.....some by naming a character in the movie...and some by looking at the houses that were well on display throughout the film.  Like these.......

The Holiday - What appears to be a charming English country cottage in the film was really a facade built in the middle of an empty field.

Home Alone.jpg

Home Alone - The beautiful suburban Chicago home for the 1990 hit movie Home Alone sold for an estimated $1.5 million in 2012, according to Zillow.

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.jpg

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation - The house with the "over-the-top Christmas light display" owned by Clark Griswold in 1989's National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation set the new standard for exterior illumination .

White Christmas.jpg

White Christmas - Technically, the structure where most of the movie White Christmas was filmed was an inn rather than a house.  In watching the movie, the inn looks beautifully nestled in Pine Tree, Vermont.  But in actuality, it was build on a set at Paramount Studios.

It's a Wonderful Life.jpg

It's a Wonderful Life - George & Mary Bailey turn an abandoned "drafty old house" into their home in It's a Wonderful Life.

A Christmas Story.jpg

A Christmas Story - "Ralphie's home in 1983's A Christmas Story is one of the most memorable homes on film - so memorable in fact, that the Cleveland, Ohio house has since been restored and turned into a museum open to the public for tours year-round."

Whatever Chrismas movie you and your family will be watching this holiday season, remember to enjoy time spent with your loved ones.

'Tis the season to wish one another joy and love and peace.

And have a Merry Christmas from our family to yours!
